Alice creates jewellery that is both enchanting and sophisticated, lending itself to both casual wear and special occasions. She makes the original by hand, which gives her work an exquisite delicacy. She uses her skills to create pieces that are playful, but always very feminine. She uses a mixture of finishes on Sterling Silver and Gold plated Sterling Silver. Parts are satin finished as well as highly polished, to give a two tonal effect that highlights the delicate details and brings the pieces to life.

Alice Stewart Jewellery Wins a Place at the Annual Living Crafts Fair

Alice Stewart Jewellery is delighted to be attending the 2014 Living Crafts Fair, which is being held in Hertfordshire between Thursday 8th May and Sunday 11th May. This year’s event is particularly special as it marks the fair’s 40th anniversary, and to help celebrate, TV presenter and craft advocate, Monty Don, will be in attendance on the opening day to support this very special birthday.

Over the years, the Living Crafts Fair has provided a fantastic opportunity for the public to experience and interact with the best of traditional and contemporary British craft. However, more recently it has also provided a platform for exciting new artists to showcase fresh and innovative work, and two years ago a new feature was introduced to help support and promote these emerging creators. Ten places are now available each year and Alice Stewart Jewellery has been selected as one of 2014’s British-based designers. It’s a huge privilege to have been selected, especially for this special anniversary of a nationally-treasured event.

Craft is such a vital part of British heritage, and will be represented in its many forms at this year’s fair, from studio ceramics and stained glass, to elegant bespoke jewellery, fashion and photography. Lectures, workshops and demonstrations will be running throughout the weekend, inspiring and inviting visitors to interact with the craft on display. The Food and Drink Marquee will also be returning to provide plenty of enticing treats throughout the four-day event.

The beauty of the handmade craft on show is mirrored in the beauty of the grounds at Hatfield House in rural Hertfordshire. May is the perfect time of year to visit; the flowers will be in full bloom and, with any luck, the sun will be shining to help celebrate the Living Crafts Fair’s 40th birthday.

You can find Alice Stewart Jewellery at the The Emerging Designer-Makers Pavilion.

The show is open each day from 10am – 5pm.

Advance Tickets: Adult £8.50, Senior £8, Child £3.50, Family £23
